Faithful

Mid-morning sunlight shone through the church window, coloring the santuary in a golden hue. Silence filled the room as we waiting for the next person to share. My gaze shifted to the front pew,   as an old man shuffled to his feet. It was the old pastor, now retired because of a stroke. Slowly he turned and faced the congregation. "Brothers and Sisters," he said, "God is always with us. Always." He folds his twisted hands to his chest with a sigh. "Sometimes when I'm all alone in the house, and I'm in a lot of pain, I feel that He isn't with me. But I look at my Bible...and there are the promises, over and over again. "I will never leave you", God says." He pauses, and it seems his dark eyes are fixed right on me. "There are times that we are tempted to doubt God promises. Times when we feel that God has definitely left us...but He never has.  Remember the promises. Be faithful to God, even in the little things. It says in the Bible, "When the Son of man comes, will He find faith on the earth?" That is what keeps me going, even when I feel so useless." and he motions to his limp hand. "God has things for me yet. I will believe in that...it would be my greatest joy to die serving the Lord. I will be faithful 'till he calls me home. And what about you, brothers and sisters, will you be faithful to him?"

I will go//The Beauty in Design Challenge Week 10

This song is probably my favorite chorus ever. Throughout out my life I've thought back to this song, and been encouraged to keep going...that the lonely road was worth it--because it is. Anyway. This was a song written years and years ago, performed by Steve Green.

Have a listen!

I Will Go

Give me ears to hear Your Spirit
Give me feet to follow through
Give me hands to touch the hurting
And the faith to follow You

Give me grace to be a servant

Give me mercy for the lost
Give me passion for Your glory
Give me passion for the cross

And I will go where there are no easy roads

Leave the comforts that I know
I will go and let this journey be my home
I will go
I will go

I'll let go of my ambition

Cut the roots that run too deep
I will learn to give away
What I cannot really keep
What I cannot really keep

Help me see with eyes of faith

Give me strength to run this race

I will go Lord where Your glory is unknown

I will live for You alone
I will go because my life is not my own
I will go
I will go
I will go

What did you think?

odds and ends

It's been pretty quiet around here, I know. School and friends make my life a round of busy days. I still manage to take pictures though--I make time for the things I love. So it's a rambler today. Ready? Set? bore yourself with my aimless rambling!

>>I've been reading a lot lately. I love to read. and old books are the best. Anyone ever read the Betsy-Tacy series? (be sure to holler, I'd love hear what you thought of it)

>>I found out that leaves on wet trampolines are pretty cool. Beauty lies all around us in the most unexpected places. You just gotta open your eyes.

>> For all the Jane Austen-lovers/Jane Austen-movie-soundtrack-lovers I found free sheet music an amazing arrangement of Emma's Seaside for piano! Be sure to check it out. It's great!

>>Anyone else that can't believe it's February! I mean...I'm still stuck on "the beginning of January". But hey, what's better than Valentine's Day?

>>I think that blue eyes are cool. just sayin'. Anyone else agree?

>>Its been pretty rainy around here, but for the most part it just feels like spring...here comes the mud!

have a good day, ya'll!

Words

They are the basis of our lives. The way in which we communicate, make memories, express feelings and fears, and make the decisions that will change our lives. They are what make moments memorable, lives worthwhile. They affect us, changing us and those around us with steady power. Chose your words carefully, for they will be remembered forever. Words have a power all of their own, creating pictures, encouraging hearts, and changing lives. In words we find a weapon not found anywhere else, for as the saying goes "The pen is mightier than the sword".  In the soft rise and fall of our language we find a unique beauty. In kind words we find comfort. In words of literature, knowledge. In the words of another day, hope. In God's Word, directions for our lives. In the words of love, we find warmth.

Words are beautiful.
