the story of today

7:00 a.m.

  When I wake up this morning, the sun has already risen and is shining through my window. I get out of bed and head to the kitchen for breakfast. The tulips I picked yesterday are open already...I love tulips. I get my breakfast, and pour myself a cup of coffee...creamer first and then a little sugar. I go back to my room and pick out my outfit. I want something summery for today. I decide on chocolate-colored cargo shorts and a pink tee. After my shower, I start school, glancing longingly at the window. It looks so beautiful outside!

12:00 p.m.

At lunchtime I always go outside for a few minutes. Sometimes I shoot a few baskets with my brother, or walk around the yard barefoot, and take pictures. Today all the flowers are blooming and the sun is bright. It's the perfect time of day for capturing Springtime. The tulips are fully open and seem to be soaking in the sunshine. In the shade, diamond dewdrops linger on blades of grass. A slight breeze rustles the trees above me. This is the best time of year.

1:00 p.m.

The afternoon drags on until I finish school. It seems a shame to not be outside enjoying the weather, but what needs to be done, must be done. I open my window, and fresh, fragrant air fills the room. I return to school with more energy...once I'm done I can go outside!

5:30 p.m.

I step outside into the golden world of evening. Sunsets are the best. It's getting cooler now, where I live it gets cold at night all year. I like that about where I live. No matter how hot the days are, it's always cool and fresh in the morning. The neighborhood is quiet this evening. The sun is sinking slowly, but a month ago it would have been dark by now. Everything around me is plated in gold now...and the sun is peeking through the trees. I think sunsets are a perfect ending to days...don't you?
